Worked at a middle school in Plainville most of the day teaching youth cartooning and developing social uplift and political comic strips about about World War 2. I will be at the same place tomorrow. Doing everything  i can to bring in revenue.

Tonight I worked w/Shelia Reese from CWBN and completed a grant. I will submit it tomorrow.  The kids in the afterschool program is growing everyday. It’s good we’re keeping kids off the street, but it takes money to accomodate them. We have to pay  for staffing, supplies, etc. Alot of these kids and parents don’t have money to pay. We have limited scholarships and I can’t turn any kid away. One day we will have enough money coming in commercial contracts and from DR and this won’t be a problem. In the meantime you just hold on.  Usually when your doing the right thing for the community a door opens w/suprise support. I guess it’s karma.

Had a good day today.  I met w/Kayze Rogers, a voice over artist who is currently working on the “Pokemon” series.  We worked together years ago. She is interested in collaborating again.  We did a DR You Tube entry and she tells her story of breaking into the industry. The entry should air on Monday next week.

Today I sent a DR package  to Will Smith at his production company Overbrook Entertainment in Beverly Hills, CA. I kept everything simple. I have always said Will might be a good fit w/this project. Recently a few people have been mentioning his name when they think of this project so I thought I might send all these thoughts out to Mr. Smith  through action. Let’s see what happens. We’ve reached out before to other celebrities and have gotten some response. Stay tuned. Things unfold as they should.

A huge day today. A meeting / interview has been set for May 8th in Washington, DC w/Matthew Lesko “The Free Money” Guy.  This event is so important because Mr. Lesko has a record from decades of showing people where the money is. He has many books that have been on the national bestseller list.  The main purpose of the meeeting is to conduct an interview w/him for the weekly DR You Tube. He will be asked a series of questions to inspire us like, how’d he break into his industry, who is his mentor, what advice can he give us on this project, etc….

Tomorrow I meet w/Kayze Rogers, a voiceover artist I worked w/in the 90’s. She did a voice for my Felona character in Scruples. I will do a You Tube interview w/her. She did alot of voicevers for the hit animated show “Pokeman”.

A good day.  We got some great feedback from today’s You Tube. I met w/Denise, a former executive at FOX News national.  She will be helping us w/DR Live TV show. We visited the public access station in Hartford we will be shooting out of. They have good modern equipment–studio, control room,etc. The program will be shot with 3 cameras. denise and I briefly discussed the format of the show. The key is keeping it simple. I will use older students from my afterschool video program to help w/alot of the pre-production work.  Stan and Denise will meet on Wednesday to discuss. As of now Stan, myself and Denise will produce the program. Stan will direct. Denise will focus on pre-production w/students, and the live show administration. I’ll be talent and help produce. The show is only once a month so the grind will not be at the maximum level. I like speaking w/Denise she’s very system orientated.

Debbie from I met today. We are about to launch a major nat’l media campaign on the book and project…hitting all the local and national media with our material.  Debbie has given us alot of great responses w/Barnes and Noble and the schools I can’t wait to see her magic w/the nat’l press.

The project is starting to blow up and is taking  resources we don’t have, so I have to walk a tight rope, work twice as hard to generate revenue and juggle money at the same time. But we’re in to deep to turn around now. It’s hard but we have to keep pushing. We’ll get there. people are watching.

Yesterday inspiration hit like a light bolt. We must push the book and it’s ability to help people have a positive outlook on life no matter what they’ve done or are going through. The Diamond Ruff character reflects this though his character and his trials and tribulations. People need stories like this in these dire times of social and economic upheaval. I believe the human interest story behind the making of the story should  be the sub-plot. I think pushing the book and it’s importance is the “Silver Bullet’, which will allow us to survive, which will open up the door that will allow to tell the story of the sub-plot (the story behind the scenes) which will allow us to thrive.

Paige and I have finished this months Newsletter. Tierney will send it out w/tomorrows You Tube.  Delgating as much work as possible and creating systems will allow us to operate efficently w/out dropping too many balls we are juggling.

Spoke to Kyle tonight he is finishing up the You Tube. It should be up tomorrow morning. I interviewed R & B singer Razah (formerly signed w/Jay-Z and Stan McCauley president of accesstv.org.

I went into the office today and tied up afe loose ends on this week’s work. A met w/Debbie of ED we are developing our “Silver Bullet” to launch our nat’l media campaign.  We originally started focusing on the human interest story on the DR Project. I think we should focus on the actual book content…the DR Book will help people overcome obstacles…through the character Diamond Ruff whose made mistake, hope is possible if you change your actions.

Kyle and I spoke in length today about the actual movie and what cameras to shoot in and why. We are debating between 35 mm or the Red Camera(high definition digital–with the right lenses looks like film).

It was a good and productive day in the office. My daughter Paige began working on the May DR newsletter. This will be the biggest newsletter to date as far as content. My son Johnny put together procedures for our social networking. Vanessa is helping work on some admin. work for of our afterschool programmming. This will free me up to work on some DR work. She also got an order from Baker and Taylor(our book distributor) today. They only ordered one book, but I was happy because at least there is ome activity. Today was Vanessa’s last day as an intern. I am going to have to find money to keep her. She is an important asset to the team.

Debbie from ED was able to get DR and Scruples cover images up on Barnes and Noble website. It was motivational to see it. She is currently trying to do the same for  other retail out lets who carry my books (Borders and Books, Amazon, and Target on-line).

We had a full house today. The day moved by very fast. We were able to get our public access TV show out to 4 stations today. We are ahead of schedule sending out May’s monthy program.

My son Johnny was on school vacation this week. He came in and worked the front desk. He also began putting procedures together for our social networks w/Vanessa.  He also showed us how to tap into the demographics for You Tube. It is Vanessa last week under her internship. I will have to find a way to keep her on. She is very valuable to the team.

We are working ahead of schedule I finished  shooting my weekly You Tube for next week(Episode #42). We are showcasing Stan McCauley, a local director and producer and Mike Sanders brought in young R & B singer Razah, formerly of Def Jam.

A great day. Matthew Lesko  the famous  ”Free Money” Guy called me from an airport in Chicago today. We discussed me interviewing him for a DR weekly You Tube. We will discuss his rise to being a repeat national Bestseller and Guru on finding money and him giving us advice on how to raise money for the project. We are working out the details for the interview. It should happen in a few weeks in Maryland. I’ve been following Mr. Lesko for over 20 years and even bought a couple of his books. A writer couldn’t haven’t written the script better for us to meet a guy like this on our DR journey.  We have an angel looking out for us.

I have to step my game up more and be more consistent w/writing my 20 task a day list. Without it I lose focus and let distractions in my day.

A ver good day. I met w/ Producer Stan McCauley and had a great meeting. As we beef up our pr efforts; we will be launching Diamond Ruff Live(DRL). DRL is a live broadcast of the DR TV show w/a Charlie Rose sort of format. I will be interviewing guest getting advice and discussing the project. Also I will be taking  and responding to live phone calls/texts and emails re: the project.  The program will air live on Hartford Public Access, being broadcast to over 30,000 households in Hartford and simutaneously steamed live on the world wide web via Stans on-line network(webcast) accesstv.org. Stan will direct and assist in producing the show. The program will begin next month Wednesday, May 20th from 5pm-6pm. Now I have to scramble to put a team together to make this happen. I really excited about this initiative!
