This will be a big week. In the mornings I will knock out YS and HAFI that pays the bills and DR work that will pay future bills.  The key is having balance when you work on a project like this.

We have to secure all clothes, props, locations and equipment by this Saturday, so we have a week to tighten up all loose ends on the music video.  We still have raise more money. This weekend at my house we will have a tag sale to put toward the project. It has to pay for itself since there is no major revenue paying for it.

Letters have to go out to the talent and crew to update and meet w/them. We will also be auditioning for actors and extras. It will be alot of work this week, but alot of fun. The keys to success to this music video is preparation, hardwork, raising the right money, being super organized and having a positive attitude.

This week Lee and I will heavily concentrate on bringing new financial resources to the table through the DRsales team.

Paige, Kyle and I hunted down some more costumes and props for the DR music video shoot. We have most of the talent costumes secure. This week we should have the locations, costumes and props confirmed as if we were doing it this coming weekend. This will give us a week to tie up any looses ends.

Tonight Kyle will be finishing up week You Tube entry. We are seeking the suppport of the public to help w/the DR music video.

Myself, Kyle and Paige ran around looking for costumes and props for the DR music video and then came into the office to do administrative work on the project.  Someone close to me today told me straight out the schools won’t pick up the DR school curriculum because they believe schools only have the students read classical literature. I respected their opinion but believe this is why I believe the book and curriculum can be a big hit in social studies classes because it’s a new way to teach life skills. Our success will boil down to sales and how we convey their is a need for the book. As a leader you listen to the constructive criticism and use it to strengthen your position.  But sometimes leaders can see what is not there.

Today Kyle worked on the jib… putting weights on it for easy manuervering. Take a look at it below. We will be ready for the shoot dates (Sept. 11-13th). If anyone is interested in in being an extra or trying out for a part in the music video hit Kyle up at kyle@youngstudios.biz.

I took care of some Y!S and HAFI work in the morning. After we worked on DR stuff. I was able  to secure the paperwork for the insurance needed for the music video locations.  We had over 5 people come in wanting to join the project as volunteers.  The word is growing quickly about what we are doing.

I met with Educator Steve Parnes today. he finished the DR school curriculum I was blown away w/the level of quality and creativity he provided.  I can see why he has two masters from Harvard University. We will begin marketing this to schools asap.

Lee and I had a long discussion about him helping w/the sales of the project. He had a cpl. good ideas. We will be implementing the sales program next week. 

This weekend we will begin working on the sales team packaging and purchasing items(clothes, props, etc.) for the music video.

Kyle and team painted the camera jib and put the Y! studio logo on it. It will be ready for the Sept. DR music shoot dates.   We continued to secure dates for the location. Lee came in and Vanessa and I discussed how he can help w/the sales and marketing of the project.

Today we received numerous calls from people wanting to extra work on the video. The success of the calls is due to all the flyers the street team is putting out on a daily basis and distribution of the information on social networks and Craigslist.

I spoke to Actor Jim Noble today he is excited about the shoot and is willing to help us get the project done.

Yesterday Kyle and I met w/Lance Spears. He a recent graduate of film school. I’ve known him for awhile.  He has worked on some contracted YS work in the past.  He is very talented and will be the Director of Photogaphy on the video.  We will be hooking up w/him later in the week to discuss and visit the locations we will be shooting.

Today was very busy in the office.  In the morning we had to work on some outstanding YS and HAFI work. Our focus was getting the word out about the music video. We have a great crew group of volunteers  from  Capital Community College helping. We were able to distribute posters and flyers  thoughout downtown Hartford.

Felipe built a rollong platforn for the film/jib crane. This piece of equipment will make a difference when we shoot the video. It will give us nice dramatic angles.

We also worked on the new DR TV show. Volunteers painted the “Hit Me Up” room and will start adding creative work on the walls tomorrow.

Lee, a volunteer has come on to help us raise money for the project. We’ll see what happens. I think he will do well he has great work ethics.

A long day. Today we got alot accomplished. Kyle and I banged out some YS and HAFI work. Denise started to really organize the DR music video shoot and we started to finalize locations. Vanessa and I are trying to bring revenue in from new markets. Natasha and I are working on a new potential entertainment  project.  Tonight I will bringing my son Johnny out to celebrate his 18th birthday, food, movies, etc.

Yesterday we had a great DR Poets Night Out at the Vibz. We had an estimated 100 people through the night.  We were also able to promote the music video.  Alot of people had interest in being an extra or trying out for a part. All the performers did a good job. Dove and Natasha did an excellent job in acting out Chapter 21from the DR Book.

This morning I was in NYC meeting with DuArt a large film and video company who produces the Pokeman movie and TV series. I met w/them about YS stuff and the Scruples and DR Project. There is some interest in our work. While down there I had the pleasure of meeting Irwin Young, the President of DuArt who received an Academy Award in 2000.

Kyle worked w/very little sleep from a late night at the fundraiser was in the office by 6:30am knocking some outstanding YS and HAFI work out.

It’s 7:30 and we are still working like crazy to get the  You Tube out tonight. We are showing clips from the event. Both Kyle and I are very tired but it takes crazy work like this to get where we have to go.

Yesterday we distributed video flyers at a church event in Hartford. We got alot of people to sign up to help out on the video project. Later in the night we distributed flyers for the fundraiser. Today will a big day. Tonight we have the DR Poetry event. The event will be a fundraiser for the video project and get the word out about the DR project. There will be alot of running around today until the event.

Last night myself , Kyle and Dove worked until 1:00am handing out flyers for DR fundraiser for tomorrow at different clubs and socila events. Alot of eople were familiar w/the event. In total we’ve handed out over 5,000 flyers and did about 5 big email blast.  I think we’ll do OK.

This afternoon Kyle and I will be at a church in Hartford for several hours doing face painting and caricatures for their summer cookout. They expect over 500 peole. We will be handing out flyer to recruit for the “Are You Sleeping “video shoot, we have a couple crowd scenes that require people.

After we have some HAFI/YS and then we do final preparations for big event tomorrow. Today will be a crazy day…but positive.
